XVI WORLD CONGRESS “CARDIOSTIM – 2008” IN NICE

This prestigious forum is held every two years for specialists in the field of electrophysiology and heart rhythm disturbances. For the first time it took place in 1978, and the participants of that meeting numbered 250. This year the congress gathered more than 5,000 specialists from all over the world. Electrophysiology has made rapid progress recently, so the range of topics that are covered at the congress broadens every year. At the latest Cardiostim interventional methods of treating heart rhythm disturbances, radiofrequency ablation and implanted devices (pacemakers, cardioverter-defibrillators) were discussed.

Tyumen Cardiology Center is considered one of the leaders in high-technology treatment of cardiovascular diseases, in particular in the use of sparing, minor surgical methods of arrhythmia treatment. According to the data given by A.N. Bakulev Center for Cardiovascular Surgery at the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (Moscow), Tyumen Cardiology Center takes the third place in atrial fibrillation treatment and the fifth place in the total number of operations performed on cardiac conduction system among more than 50 leading cardiology hospitals in Russia.
