 Heads of multifield and specialized clinics, the representatives of Healthcare Department and Insurance companies gathered for the first time so that to discuss problems and prospects of a future development of a private medicine in Tyumen. This theme has become very pressing because of new market conditions.
Every participant shared experience telling about aims and problems which the leaders of private clinics face. It is worth mentioning, that the participants of the round-table meeting cited as an example an experience of Tyumen Cardiology Center and they appeal to Vadim A. Kuznetsov with the request to tell how he managed to achieve high results in rendering medical care.
In his turn, Vadim A. Kuznetsov, paid attention of attendees to the fact, that Tyumen Cardiology Center is completely a government structure. Equally, he explained, that at a hard time for the Russian medicine, Tyumen Cardiology Center was one of the first, who started rendering paid medical service for the population. Vadim A. Kuznetsov told that the first attempts of paid service application were made in 1988. They were done on basis of the contracts with enterprises, along with Komsomol organizations employed as middlemen. The economic crisis of 1998 encouraged more active promotions of paid services. Though, at that time just few people believed in success of the initiative, but our life proved that the reverse was true and patients are ready to pay for the skilled and opportune medical aid with a high level of service.
Sergey V. Goltsov, deputy director of Tyumen region Healthcare Department also gave a report on government support of a private business in Tyumen. Moreover, such questions as insurance and private clinics, introduction of additional services, the level of demand for paid medical service in Tyumen and other questions were brought up at the conference.
