IGOR P. ZYRIANOV AWARDED THE TITLE “HONORED DOCTOR OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION”

Igor Zyzianov has been working at Tyumen Cardiology Center for more than 17 years and has made a significant contribution into its development and formation. He started working as a resident in cardiovascular surgery (1989, at the Research Institute of Transplantology and Artificial Organs), in 1992 he was appointed head of the Cath lab of Tyumen Cardiology Center.

Igor Zyrianov was the first in the Tyumen region to perform percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty and stenting (high-technology methods of treatment of coronary artery disease). Owing to well-coordinated work of his department, Tyumen Cardiology Center is one of the leading Russian clinics that specialize in the use of catheter techniques, regarding the number and the quality of angioplasties and stenting procedures performed. Other modern high-technology methods of treatment of cardiovascular diseases are also developed and applied in this department.

It is worth mentioning that Igor Zyrianov takes an active part in training young specialists. His students work at clinics of Khanty-Mansiysk, Surgut, and Novosibirsk. 

Apart from successful clinical and educational activities, he is doing much research work. In 2002 he defended his Ph.D. thesis “Modern features of percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty and stenting”. He is the co-author of 112 publications printed in Russian and foreign editions. Undoubtedly, all the above listed has become possible due to his responsible attitude to work. He is a high-qualified doctor and a talented leader.
