She started her career in 1964 after finishing School of Physician Assistant and Midwifery. Her first position was a physician assistant at a hospital in Irbit. Then followed training at Tyumen Medical Institute, advanced courses, work at an outpatient clinic, city hospital… In 1985 she started her work at Tyumen Cardiology Center (at that time Cardiology Clinic of Tomsk Branch of the All-Union Cardiology Scientific Center of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences).
One of her main achievements is the opening and successful development of the Department of Emergency Cardiology. Its work has always been very intensive. Under the direction of Maya Vasilievna the Department has been introducing and developing new methods of diagnostics and treatment that enable to provide efficient care for patients in a grave condition (with acute myocardial infarction).
She aspires to the work without drawbacks and failures. She is very strict with herself. When she gets deserved awards she always feels embarrassed, because she thinks that there is always room for improvement (Maya Vasilievna Luzina has got a great number of regional and city awards, in 2003 she was awarded the title “Honored doctor of the Russian Federation” for her conscientious work during many years). In Tyumen Cardiology Center Maya Vasilievna is an example for all young specialists. And established doctors ask her for known right and wise advice. One cannot but say that Maya Vasilievna is loved by patients. They often express thanks and acknowledgements in the feedbacks book of the Emergency Cardiology Department. They write: “Maya V. Luzina is a very professional and very devoted to her work person. And the most important thing – she treats us, her patients, with love. She does everything possible to help us and very often even to save life”.
A lot of warm words and congratulations were addressed to Maya Vasilievna at the meeting. Colleagues prepared for her a photo-presentation, and to the strains of her favorite song “The soul pains, and the heart cries…” she was given flowers and presents. A surprise for her was a certificate that says she is the first staff member in the Gold Fund of Tyumen Cardiology Center. |
