Vadim A. Kuznetsov was born on October 18, 1956 in Novosibirsk. He graduated with award from Novosibirsk State Medical University in 1980. After the University Dr. Kuznetsov passed the internship as a district therapeutist in Central Berdsk City Hospital, after that he worked as a teacher of internal diseases in Berdsk Medical College. From 1983 to 1986 he had a fellowship in cardiology in the Institute of Internal Diseases, Siberian branch of Academy of Medical Sciences, Novosibirsk, USSR. Vadim Kuznetsov successfully defended Ph.D. thesis on "Echocardiography in diagnostics of abnormalities of coronary arteries and cardiac valves in patients with coronary artery disease" in 1986.  In March, 1993 Vadim A. Kuznetsov defended habilitation thesis on the subject «Clinical and echocardiographic assessment of patients with coronary artery disease". In 1995, Supreme Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation gave him the title of Professor of Cardiology. In 2007, under the President's decree, Professor Kuznetsov was awarded by the honorary title “Honored worker of science of the Russian Federation” for the outstanding achievements in science.

Vadim A. Kuznetsov has been working in Tyumen Cardiology Center since 1998. He was a Deputy Director for scientific researches from October 1988 to March 1991 and since April 1991 till nowadays he is Director of Tyumen Cardiology Center.

Vadim A. Kuznetsov made an important contribution to the development of instrumental diagnostics of cardiovascular diseases. A scientific school on developing and application of new methods of instrumental diagnosis and interventional treatment in cardiology, which bases on a study of fundamental regularities of ethiology and pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases, was formed under Prof. Kuznetsov's supervision. His pioneering activity in the area of ultrasound diagnosis attracted attention of Russian and foreign colleagues and it gave occasion for organizing in 2004 Russian Chapter of the International Society of Cardiovascular Ultrasound (ISCU) on the basis of Tyumen Cardiology Center and Professor Kuznetsov was elected a Chairman of the Russian Chapter of ISCU. Possessing a high working capacity, being a purposeful person and having good managerial abilities, Vadim A. Kuznetsov as a leader, succeeded in providing a stable work of the centre, keeping a scientific potential and found inducements for development of creative young people even in the conditions of great economic problems. Tyumen Cardiology Center has come up to the level of leading cardiology centers of the country after outliving different stages of making and development. Due to the Director's active attitude and his creative way of looking, a great number of patients (about 40 thousand a year), who are suffering from cardiovascular diseases, get a high-technology medical aid in a Clinic of the Cardiology Center. The technologies, which are in the front line of the world medicine, are introduced in Tyumen Cardiology Center.
 
Research and educational experience:
 - Сo-author of about 500 publications, printed in Russian and foreign editions and 5 patents on the invention.
 - Promoter of 12 PhD theses, 8 further ongoing and 5 habilitation theses, 2 further ongoing.
 - Invited Speaker in the Sessions of Congresses of Russian Cardiac Society; International Conferences on Recent Advances in Echocardiography, Atlanta (USA) 1998, 2006, Chicago (USA) 2008; World Congresses of Echocardiography and Vascular Ultrasound - Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) 1998, Seoul (Korea) 2001, Buenos Aires (Argentina) 2003, Antalya (Turkey) 2004, Marrakesh (Morocco) 2005, Rhodos (Greece) 2007, Cartagena de Indias (Columbia) 2008; Congress of the International Cardiac Doppler Society, Shanghai (China) 2002, Seoul (Korea) 2004; VI Central European Symposium on Echocardiography, Szczecin (Poland) 2005.
 - Organizer and President of 15 annual international conferences “Cardiology Update” and of 4 international Symposiums on Echocardiography and Vascular Ultrasound,  held in Tyumen Cardiology Center, 1994-2008; President of the XV World Congress of the International Cardiac Doppler Society held in Tyumen, Russia in conjunction with Russian National Conference on Cardiac Resynchronization and Cardioversion Defibrillation in May 2006.
 - Member of the Editorial Board of the European Journal of Echocardiography (Oxford University Press), "Polish Journal of Cardiology"; Russian journals “Atherosclerosis”, “Functional diagnostics” and “Problems of Women Health”. Reviewer for the journals “Echocardiography” (Blackwell Futura Publishing, Inc.), “European Journal of Echocardiography”.
 - Principal investigator of five international multicenter clinical trials.
