Leading Russian specialists in the field of high-technology treatment of cardiovascular diseases took part in the conference organized by Tyumen Cardiology Center.
The problem of sudden cardiac death is urgent not only in Russia, but all over the world. It claims over 500,000 lives in our country and about 3,000,000 lives in the world every year. A high rate of sudden cardiac death requires that new approaches to treatment of cardiovascular diseases should be searched for, in particular innovative technologies that give opportunities to save patients` lives.
One of the participants of the conference, Amiran Sh. Revishvili, Corresponding Fellow of the RAMS, Deputy Director of A.N. Bakulev Center for Surgery and Interventional Arrhythmology at the Ministry of Health Care, President of the All-Russian Society of Specialists in Clinical Electrophysiology, Arrhythmology and Pacing, delivered his lecture via tele-bridge Moscow – Tyumen.
The conference was attended by more than 200 cardiologists and physicians from different towns of Russia: Tyumen, Omsk, Chelyabinsk, Perm, Kurgan as well as from towns of the Khanty-Mansiysk and Yamalo-Nenets autonomous districts.
On March 20, 2008, the day before the conference, a round-table on sudden cardiac death with journalists` participation was held in Tyumen Cardiology Center. Representatives of leading electronic mass media and press of the Tyumen region took part in the meeting. The journalists` questions were answered by V.A.
