XIV Annual International Conference “Cardiology Update” in conjunction with the III International Symposium of Echocardiography and Vascular Ultrasound

This scientific forum was organized by Tyumen Cardiology Center with support of the Russian Chapter of the International Society of Cardiovascular Ultrasound (RCISCU), the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (RAMS), Tyumen chapter of the All-Russian Scientific Society of Cardiologists, and the Department of Health Care of the Tyumen region.

The Chairman of the Scientific Committee was R.S. Karpov, Academician of the RAMS (Tomsk). His Deputies were A.V. Shabalin, Corresponding Fellow of the RAMS (Novosibirsk), and Prof. V.A. Kuznetsov (Tyumen).  Symposium co-chairmen were Prof. Navin Nanda (Birmingham, USA) and Prof. Vadim Kuznetsov (Tyumen, Russia).

More than 400 participants from 7 countries (Russia – representatives of 50 cities, the USA, Germany, the Netherlands, Greece, Hong Kong and Latvia) took part in the conference. On the whole 13 countries participated in the meeting taking into consideration the abstracts published in the Conference abstract book (additionally: Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, the Ukraine and Azerbaijan). Outstanding foreign specialists: Prof. Navin Nanda (the USA), Prof. Jos Roelandt (the Netherlands), Prof. Cheuk-Man Yu (Hong Kong) and others as well as leading Russian specialists delivered lectures at the meeting.

The conference was organized with support of more than 20 industry partners: pharmaceutical companies and companies producing medical equipment and about 10 information sponsors. The general sponsor was Medtronic; the official sponsors were Cordis, Cardiomedics and Boston Scientific.

A very high scientific level, active attendance, good organization and warm atmosphere of the event were mentioned by our guests and participants.

Traditionally, in addition to the scientific program an interesting social program was arranged.
