This meeting was sponsored by the Russian Chapter of the International Society of Cardiovascular Ultrasound (RCISCU) and organized by Tyumen Cardiology Center.
Symposium co-chairmen were Prof. Jos Roelandt (Rotterdam, the Netherlands) Prof. Valeriy Sandrikov (Moscow, Russia) and Prof. Vadim Kuznetsov (Tyumen, Russia).
More than 500 participants from 10 countries and about 40 cities of Russia took part in the meeting. The outstanding specialists: Prof. Joseph Kisslo (USA), Prof. Roxy Senior (UK), Prof. Jaroslaw Kasprzak (Poland) and others as well as the leading Russian specialists Prof. Valeriy Sandrikov (Moscow), Prof. Vadim Kuznetsov (Tyumen), Prof. Elena Pavliukova (Tomsk) and others delivered lectures at the symposium.
This conference remains the major scientific and educational meeting in cardiology and cardiovascular ultrasound in Tyumen region that attracts participants from all parts of Russia and different countries.
New was a lot of practical work organized within the conference. Two workshops on high-technology methods of diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases were held. The first devoted to the role of echocardiography in selecting patients for cardiac resynchronization therapy was presented by Tomas M. Binder, director of Echocardiography Laboratory of the Department of Cardiology at the University of Vienna, and Dmitriy V. Krinochkin, head of the Ultrasound Diagnostics Department at Tyumen Cardiology Center. The other workshop on programming implantable cardioverter-defibrillators was conducted under the direction of Nikolay M. Neminuschiy, Professor of Chair II of Cardiovascular Surgery at I.M. Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy.
The guests and participants of the event mentioned high scientific level of the conference as well as active attendance, good organization and warm atmosphere. Traditionally, in addition to the scientific program an interesting cultural exchange program was prepared.
