Diagnostics and treatment of patients with heart rhythm disturbances and conductivity are performed at the Department of Surgical Treatment of Complex Heart Rhythm Disturbances and Pacing №1 using medical treatment and high-tech operational technologies as well.
The department is equipped with modern radiographic and electrophysiological units, which allow diagnosing and treating patients with severe forms of cardiovascular diseases. Highly qualified arrhythmologists use special diagnostic techniques in their work, including ECG, transesophageal pacing, transesophageal electrophysiological examination, daily ECG and blood pressure monitoring, stress tests.
The department performs surgeries, implantation of various EKS-systems for patients with bradyarrhythmias; biventricular pacemakers for the treatment of chronic heart failure, as well as implantation of cardioverter-defibrillators for the prevention of sudden cardiac death. Here, patients with pacemakers are examined and programmed.
The department uses catheter radiofrequency and cryotechniques for the treatment of tachyarrhythmias, including using a navigational electrophysiological system “Carto”.
