On the 22nd of August a meeting of Valeriy Falkov, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Aleksandr Moor, The Governor of the Tyumen region, and heads of scientific and education institutes took place in the Government of the Tyumen region. Marina Bessonova, Director of Tyumen Cardiology Research Center, branch of Tomsk NRMC, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, presented a report about the Center’s activities.
First of all, Dr.Bessonova noted that now the institution is a historically honored leader in the development of the cardiology service in the region. All high technologies for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, especially vascular and arrhythmological areas, were launched at the Center. The Center's team of scientists introduces into clinical practice both their own and foreign, domestic innovations, which become available to other medical institutions in the Tyumen region and the Russian Federation. Also, on the basis of the Center, specialists who headed the specialized cardiological services in large medical clinics of the country were raised.
Attention was paid to the huge clinical activity of the Center – 44.0% beds in the field of “cardiology” in the region, 65 doctors of the highest qualification categories, 15 doctors and 46 candidates of medical sciences, 7 honored doctors of the Russian Federation, and also educational activities – more than 50 programs for the colleagues, from the regions as well, and 30 accredited programs for advanced training of medical workers.
We remind, that since 2016 Tyumen Cardiology Research Center has become a representative of the biggest national medical research cluster – Tomsk NRMC.
Marina Bessonova also highlighted that the target is to provide development of Tyumen Cardiology Research Center as one of the scientific and medical divisions of Tomsk National Research Medical Centers of the Russian Academy of Sciences on the basis of creation of scientific developments, the introduction of innovative products into the work, the formation of professional, highly ethical scientific and medical environment.
The participants of the meeting also discussed the results of the intellectual activity of the Center, participation in international clinical trials, traveling expeditions and planned areas of scientific research of the institution, in particular, such topics as the influence of Arctic conditions on risk factors and the prognosis of cardiovascular diseases; personalized approach when performing high-tech interventions on coronary vessels and other topics.
Dr. Bessonova shared that Valeriy Falkov and Aleksandr Moor agreed with the fact that scientific, clinical and educational potential of the Center exceeds the existing infrastructural opportunities.
Of the plans considered, the following were named: integration into the digital space and the scientific and educational environment of the region, an important issue was raised about the inclusion of the National Project “Healthcare” in the federal program “Fight against cardiovascular diseases”.
Projects were also announced for the opening and functions of the Arrhythmology Scientific and Medical Center, an innovative medical laboratory for young scientists, the creation of a new approach to the treatment of acute myocardial infarction, and the prevention of the progression of chronic heart failure.
Marina Bessonova ended the presentation with the words: “We honorably presented our place in scientific, educational and clinical work of the region as the leading academic center which generates new knowledge and is aimed at their implementation into practice”.
Summing up the results of the meeting, A.V. Moor noted that researches in the field of biological safety and health preservation will definitely be in demand, and V.N. Falkov thanked the government of the Tyumen region for the priority given to the development of science and higher education.
The Head of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation announced: “Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, has decided to hold a decade of science and technology in our country. One of the main tasks at this stage is to ensure closer interaction between all federal scientific and educational organizations without exception. Together with the region, we are ready to provide the necessary assistance in this”.
The meeting also included reports on the activity of the Western-Siberian scientific and educational center, upgrading of the institutions of the higher education and science of the Tyumen region, activities of the Northern Trans-Ural State Agricultural University, activities of the Tyumen scientific center of the Siberian branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
