XXVII World Congress of Echocardiography and Allied Techniques was held in Adelaide, Australia from May 6-8, 2022 both in person and in virtual format. At the invitation of Navin Nanda, the President of the International Society of Cardiovascular Ultrasound, Elena Yaroslavskaya, MD, PhD, Head of the Laboratory of Instrumental Diagnostics of Tyumen Cardiology Research Center – Branch of Tomsk National Research Medical Center, presented Russia at this event.
Dr. Yaroslavskaya presented the report on the results of a year observation of patients after COVID-19- associated pneumonia.
Elena Yaroslavskaya commented, “During this difficult time, one of the most important aspect of our work is to keep scientific and educational contacts with the international experts and organizations. That is why participation in such events is paramount for us. Despite the world situation, scientists should share the important inventions and this congress gives such an opportunity. We learnt lots of interesting information about new technologies, for example, about 3D printing in cardiology. In my report I spoke about the cardiac fallouts of the pandemia: an observation year showed that among the patients underwent COVID-19 pneumonia, there is significant percentage of people whose myocardial contractility decreases. It may become a serious problem in future, to solve which is better together using all available data and the world experience”.
We remind that the World Congress of Echocardiography and Allied Techniques is held annually. The main organizer is International Society of Cardiovascular Ultrasound (ISCU). Navin Nanda, its President, Honored Professor of Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases, will deliver an online report “Recent advances in echocardiography” at the International Congress “Cardiology at a Crossroad of Sciences” which is held by Tyumen Cardiology Research Center on 25-27 May, 2022.
