Interventional cardiologists from the Department of X-ray Surgical Methods for Diagnostic and Treatment of Tyumen Cardiology Research Center take part in the TCT Congress every year. Ivan Bessonov, MD, PhD, Head of the Laboratory of X-ray Surgical Methods for Diagnosis and Treatment of Cardiovascular Diseases No.1, Senior Scientific Researcher delivered a report. Dr. Bessonov presented a study devoted to the development of a scoring scale that allows predicting the risk of developing a life-threatening complication –no-reflow phenomenon.
No-reflow is determined when patients with acute myocardial infarction, despite the restoration of coronary artery patency, do not have adequate blood supply to cardiac muscle. The scale obtained allows scientists to predict the risk of this complication developing with high accuracy, which makes it possible to take the necessary measures to prevent it in time. The patent of the invention was received.
