Description

The symposium was designed for interventional cardiologists, radiologists, clinical cardiologists, scientists, vascular medicine specialists, cardiac and vascular surgeons, cath lab technicians, and other healthcare professionals with a special interest in the field of interventional and vascular medicine.

TCT provides the latest evidence-based data, presented by leading physicians and scientists that affect the practice of interventional cardiology and endovascular medicine. TCT showcases the practical applications of current and emerging techniques and technologies and an unparalleled diversity of Live Case presentations from universities and medical centers from around the world. In the field of interventional cardiology, only TCT combines the late-breaking science and practical education that physicians need to improve patient outcomes.

Ivan Bessonov, MD, PhD, interventional cardiologist of Tyumen Cardiology Research Center delivered at the Symposium an oral presentation devoted to the strategy of direct stenting in women with acute myocardial infarction. According to the data of our scientists, this approach is associated with a fivefold decrease in the death rate from myocardial infarction in women. The problem is very important: despite the fact that in recent years significant progress in treating patients with acute heart attack has been made, the mortality rate for women continues to be two times higher than for men. Moreover, the mechanisms of differences are still not clear. The search for new approaches to the implementation of percutaneous coronary interventions, which will reduce the mortality rate in women in such a dangerous state, is the most important clinical task.

Besides, Igor Zyrianov, MD, PhD, Head of the Department of X-ray Surgical Diagnosis and Treatment No.1 and interventional cardiologist Stanislav Sapozhnikov, MD, PhD had a poster presentation at the Symposium “The method of treatment of a false aneurysm of the radial artery”.

“The meeting was held at the highest level. The scope of the forum is always amazing: a huge number of outstanding and well-known experts from around the world, thousands of participants, video broadcasts, hundreds of lectures and sessions. Industry partners also demonstrated advanced developments in the field of endovascular treatment of cardiovascular system diseases. Of particular interest were new developments in endovascular implantation of heart valves. Gradually, these operations are included in routine clinical practice. Within a few years, most operations for replacing heart valves will be performed through a small puncture in the femoral artery”, shared Dr. Bessonov.
