Opening Ceremony of the International Congress took place in Tyumen Cardiology Center

The Opening Ceremony of the IV International Congress “Cardiology at a Crossroad of Sciences” took place in Tyumen Cardiology Center yesterday. This event attracts many scientists, cardiologists as well as doctors of other specialties fr om Russia and foreign countries. This year the eminent scientists will deliver the lectures about latest achievements in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.


Many of the participants have already attended forums held in Tyumen Cardiology Center, that is why friendly handshakes and smiles created cordial atmosphere on the Congress from the very beginning. At the opening Ceremony Russian and foreign guests were impressed by the performance of the folklore-ethnographic ensemble “Shytyr-shatyr” and by the national Ukrainian composition “Oh, The Hula-Hoop Broke”, played on the accordion by a young talented musician Ivan Kargin, the winner of the international children and junior festival-competition “The Stars of Siberia”.
Prof. Natesa Pandian (Boston, USA), Co-president of the Congress, Professor of Tufts University School of Medicine shared his opinion on the Forum “I am very glad that I am in Tyumen, in Siberia, in Russia. It is my second time in Tyumen Cardiology Center”, said Professor Pandian. “Thank you for inviting me. I think it is a great opportunity to exchange new ideas and discuss not only science and latest achievements in medicine and in cardiology but also to know more about traditions and cultures of different countries”.
Natalia A. Shevchik, First Deputy Governor of Tyumen Region, welcomed the participants of the Congress. “The work of Cardiology Center is significant both in Tyumen and in Russia in the whole. Tyumen Cardiology Center is the landmark of our region. We are proud that organizations of Tyumen Region are always in progress and bring up issues on Medicare and increasing of longevity”.
Tamara P. Belokon, Deputy of Tyumen Regional Duma, the chairperson of the permanent commission on parliamentary ethics and regulatory procedures, the member of the committee on social policy, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, noted that for many years Tyumen Cardiology Center had been the venue that attracts not only Russian specialists, but also scientists from all over the worlds. “Thank you for your work and what you do for every one of us. We appreciate that you are dedicated to your job thereby curing patients”, Tamara Petrovna thanked the staff of the Center.
Prof. Vadim A. Kuznetsov, Director of Tyumen Cardiology Center made a welcome speech as well. Vadim Anatolyevich informed that this year the Congress is held in conjunction with XX Scientific Conference “Cardiology Update” wh ere 60 faculties would give lectures and 13 thematic symposiums would be held. “The annual Congress is the most significant event of the year for us, that’s why we try to provide a high-level interesting and useful program”, he said.
Vadim Anatolyevich also noted that new symposiums had been included in the program of the Congress. One of the most expected is the workshop on nanomedicine. “We are to implement operations on peripheral arteries in daily medical practice. It is an important work to do”, he explained. “This method requires using intravascular prostheses. That’s not to say that these technologies have not been used before, however implementing of any medical innovations is complicated because it is concerned with people’s health and also some restrictions. That is why functioning and development of new medical methods is our responsibility”.
Another highlight of the Congress is “World Open Championship on Echocardiography” which will take place on the second day of the Congress. It will be directed by Prof. N. Pandian (USA). Within the Congress the special focus will be on the role of physical activity as a way of prevention of diseases and even an alternative to drugs. For example, dancing may prevent a man from cardiovascular diseases and even Alzheimer disease. The participants of the Congress can make sure of the benefit of dancing during the concert “Live, love, dance” which will be arranged on the 24th of May during the farewell party.
