Physicians from all over the world discuss the latest advances in cardiology

On March 26-28, 2013 II Moscow International Forum of Cardiology was held. The meeting attracted scientists and clinicians from many countries, including specialists from Tyumen Cardiology Center.


Chief cardiologist of Moscow Healthcare Department, Academician of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Deputy Director of Bakoulev Scientific Center for Cardiovascular Surgery, President of the forum Yury I. Buziashvili in his video welcome address noted that the congress would discuss the most recent medical developments. “These three days should serve the purpose that we`ve been serving all our life – patients` health”, he said. The opening ceremony was broadcast live on the official site of the forum www.cardioprogress.ru and on social networking services (Facebook, Twitter, Vkontakte).
The scientific program focused mainly on improvement of cardiac services, emergency care of patients, prevention of cardiovascular disease, new interventional and surgical methods of treatment, and rehabilitation issues as well.
Specialists of Tyumen Cardiology Center presented 12 posters at the congress. They were prepared by the departments of arterial hypertension, ultrasound diagnostics, emergency cardiology and laboratory of cardiovascular disease epidemiology and prevention. Deputy Head Physician of the Cardiology Center Tatiana V. Sereda said: “The forum was great. There were 2500 attendees from all around the globe. Our posters made up about 25% of all those presented at the poster session. This is a very good result”.
Director of Tyumen Cardiology Center, Honored scientist of the Russian Federation, Prof. Vadim A. Kuznetsov delivered an oral presentation named “Percutaneous coronary interventions in real clinical practice: data from Tyumen Registry”.
“As for me, one of the most impressive events of the forum was 3D and Transesophageal Echocardiography School”, said senior scientific researcher of the Instrumental Diagnostics Laboratory Elena I. Yaroslavskaya. - Scientists from the USA, Netherlands, and Poland told about the latest developments in this field, shared their own observations and presented challenging cases from their practice. We also perform echocardiographic studies in our center, and it was very interesting to exchange experience with foreign experts”, she said.
