Irina Arkadyevna has been working for Tyumen Cardiology Research Center since its foundation. She actively participated in scientific and medical work at Department of Arterial Hypertension, where she was the Head over 14 years.
Over decades of work, Irina Arkadyevna has not lost indifferent, sensitive attitude and a sincere desire to help patients. She tries to devote as much time as possible to everyone, to investigate thoroughly all the little things in order to prescribe effective treatment. She is not only a competent specialist, but also a gentle psychologist. Colleagues said, that Irina Arkadyevna helped to improve health for thousands of countrymen.
Irina Velizhanina is a member of medical dynasty. Her aunt, Anna Bacherikova, is an internist, honorary citizen of Tyumen and holder of Lenin’s Order. Her husband Sergey is a psychiatrist, narcologist, sexologist at our medical Center, PhD in Medical Science. The daughter of the Velizhanins' couple, Elena, also followed in the her parents’ footsteps and works as a cardiologist at the Department of Arterial Hypertension in our center.
Today, cardiovascular pathology is the main cause of death, therefore, patients should receive specialized and high-tech care. And in doing so, we must not forget about patient safety in terms of COVID-19. Of course, the work has become more difficult. But work must be done. The number of patients with cardiovascular disease may increase due to the influence of the coronavirus. We have yet to face these consequences of the pandemic. Thrombosis associated with coronavirus infection is very dangerous as in acute period as in the framework of the postcovid syndrome. It is very important that our Center continues to work in its profile in such difficult times.
