The meeting will take place on September 25, 2021 and start at 10:00 am, near the central entrance of our research center (Melnikayte str.,111).

Physicians of our institution will also bring their dogs and be happy to have a discussion with patients, answer questions about cardiac and vascular health, check blood pressure to those who wish, and unceremoniously show by their personal example that being healthy, active and happy is our personal choice!

Yulia Viktorovna Tashkeeva, MD, the Chief physician our center, cardiologist, told she had a dog too. Though she is not a dog-fancier, so, the pet has appeared at her children request. She does not regret that this ‘bundle of happiness’ is in their family. Any four-legged friend brings joy of communication, positive emotions, smiles and laugh! She is sure that every physician will agree that joyful emotions prolong life, perfectly cheer up and prevent autumn apathy. Such a meeting promotes to draw attention of citizens to importance of getting positive impressions, spending time with physical activities, communicating with friends, paying attention to people in need and simply reminding them that our physicians are always nearby. It is better to prevent any disease than to cure, and if you already have a disease of cardiovascular system, it is better not to wait severe complications, but to consult with specialists on a scheduled basis. And it might be possible that the coming of a four-legged friend in your life will just teach you to take care of yourself. Nevertheless, its well-being will depend on your health and well-being!

Physicians and scientists mentioned that regular communication with friendly animals might reduce level of anxiety, fatigue, improve mood; regular walks help to lose weight, slow down cardiovascular disease development, recover faster after myocardial infarction and stroke, and increase immunity. Dog owners have lower cholesterol levels because they engage in regular physical activity and have daily walks outside in the fresh air.

By the way, our pediatric cardiologists advocate the idea! Dog walks are not only useful for adults. Benefits of communication with dogs are undeniable: reducing anxiety, feeling safe, improving social skills, and developing sense of responsibility and concern.

General conclusion is that dogs improve the overall quality of life and health of their owners. We invite everyone to participate!

Join Heart Day 2021: come for a walk with physicians!
