Care in arrhythmias is promoting opportunities in our center. Department for surgical treatment of complex cardiac arrhythmias and pacing disorders No. 2 was established. Natalya Yurievna Khorkova, MD, PhD, arrhythmologist of the highest category, Senior scientific researcher was appointed the Head of the new department.
Department for Surgical Treatment of Complex Heart Rhythm Disorders and Electrocardiostimulation No. 1 has remained in charge of Dr. Vsevolod Evseevich Kharats, who is an excellent physician, scientist and leader. N.Yu. Khorkova shared, that in new department, there were young physicians who, in addition to taking care of patients, were also engaged in scientific work. They plan to learn a lot, first of all, the most up-to-date methods of treating arrhythmias. This sphere is developing widely, and our specialists are always at the forefront. Of course, it will be continued to work with all departments of the center as a single team, because every division has common goal: to help patients, who are diagnosed with heart rhythm disturbances, and number of whose is, unfortunately, growing.
It should be mentioned that now diagnostics and treatment of patients with heart rhythm and conduction disorders are carried out with the help of medicines and using high-tech technologies in both departments. Surgeries for implantation of various pacemaker systems in patients with bradyarrhythmias; biventricular stimulants for the treatment of congestive heart failure; implantation of cardioverter-defibrillators for the prevention of sudden cardiac death, are performed. What is more, examination and programming of the pacemaker are carried out.
In addition, since the beginning of 2021, cardiac arrhythmia surgeries have been implemented with support of federal quotas and compulsory medical insurance. We sincerely congratulate Natalya Yurievna and wish her good luck in her new position!
