X All-Russian meeting of Young Scientists Societies took place in 2 – 4 June. Around 1200 participants fr om 76 regions of Russia visited the event, including representatives of Young Scientists Societies (YSS) and Students Scientific Societies (SSS), the prize winners of the specialty “Science” of the managers contest “Leaders of Russia” and young scientists who received the state support.
Tomsk NRMC was represented by the YSS chairmen of its divisions – Marina Ibragimova (YSS chairman of Tomsk NRMC, YSS chairman of Cancer Research Institute), Olga Rybalkina (YSS chairman of Goldberg Research Institute of Pharmacology and Regenerative Medicine) and Anna Soldatova (YSS chairman of Tyumen Cardiology Research Center).
The main topic of the meeting was “Decade of science and technologies in Russia. The role of young societies in scientific and technological progress”. The main target of the event was involving the young YSS in the taking decisions of the society and the country development goals.
Panel sessions also took place at the meeting, where participants and speakers discussed new methods of young scientists support, instruments of young projects support; excursions to the leading Moscow scientific centers were held; besides, interuniversity slam was organized within the University league Science Slam, wh ere scientists described their investigations in a simple, interesting and humorous way.
According to the participants of the meeting, it is the event which promotes science popularization among the youth. The best practical works of YSS were presented; sessions of scientific projects of the winners of the contest “Leaders of Russia” were conducted and many other activities. Scientific program was very rich and communication was going on in a very active mode. People from various regions gathered and got to know what is going on in other regions.
Representatives of YSS and SSS had a meeting with the coordinators of Coordination council on the youth issues in scientific and educational fields in the federal districts which allowed to discuss the up-to-date young scientists development during the panel discussion.
Anna Soldatova highlighted that at the meeting the best practical projects of YSS were represented; sessions of scientific projects of the winners of the contest “Leaders of Russia”, school of Russian scientific fund (RSF) and other activities were held. People from all over Russia got acquainted and shared their knowledge. Sessions of the RSF fund were remarkable. According to the last year results, 72% executives in the RSF projects are young scientists aged up to 39 years. This value reached 50% among the project managers. So, RSF has become the school of young scientists. Science is work of huge teams, often of various specialties. It is important for scientists to meet, exchange their ideas. Such meetings with communication, new acquaintances, new partnerships and collaborations will give its benefits.
