Ekaterina Viktorovna Akimova, MD, PhD, Head of Epidemiology and Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases Laboratory, Tyumen Cardiology Research Center, made oral presentations and was a co-chair at several symposia within the framework of the congress: a large-scale event that brought together specialists in practical cardiology, cardiac surgery, and academic science not only from different cities of Siberia, but also from Moscow, St. Petersburg, and cities of the Far East East and central parts of Russia in Baikal region.
The Congress of Siberian Cardiologists was held on September 7-9, 2023 in Irkutsk. Top cardiologists discussed the organization of medical care for patients with diseases of circulatory system, epidemiology of cardiovascular diseases, and current problems of cardiogenetics. The event was attended by leading specialists in the field of cardiology and cardiac surgery from all subjects of Siberian Federal District and other regions of Russia. The congress program was aimed at implementing the Federal Project titled “Control of Cardiovascular Diseases” within the framework of “Healthcare” National Project in the constituent entities of Siberian Federal District. The Congress events in Irkutsk were attended by about 600 participants in Irkutsk in person and about 2 thousand members joined online broadcasts.
Ekaterina Viktorovna Akimova co-chaired symposiums: “Long-term monitoring of cardiovascular health in Siberian population: indicators for healthcare” and “Epidemiology of cardiovascular diseases: non-conventional (psychosocial) risk factors for cardiovascular diseases in Russia / Siberia”. In an oral format, Ekaterina Viktorovna presented reports: “Population patterns of CAD prevalence and state of mind to one’s health in open population in Western Siberian moderately urban city” (Kayumova M.M., MD, PhD, co-author, senior scientific researcher, Gakova E.I., MD, PhD, senior scientific researcher, Bessonova M.I., MD, PhD, director of our center) and "The prevalence of CAD depending on psycho-emotional stress factors among men of mature years" (Akimov A.M., co-authored senior scientific researcher, PhD in social sciences, Kayumova M.M., MD, PhD, senior scientific researcher).

In total, more than 200 reports were presented by participants during the Congress.
