X International Congress "Cardiology at a Crossroad of Sciences" is over

On 24 of May, it was the summing up of a three-day jubilee Congress “Cardiology at a Crossroad of Sciences”.

This year specialists paid attention to a variety of issues: from genetic studies, problem of syncope condition diagnostics in children to prevention of thrombosis and sudden cardiac death.

Vadim A. Kuznetsov, MD, PhD, FESC, FACC, FISCU, Professor of Cardiology, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Scientific Supervisor of Tyumen Cardiology Research Center, summing up the results, noted that Congress has been completed successfully: 734 participants were registered, 122 abstracts from 5 countries were included in the abstract book, and almost 500 people watched online live broadcasting of the sessions.

“We have held the Conferences, Symposiums and Congresses of various scales on the basis of Tyumen Cardiology Research Center more than 20 years. – told Vadim A. Kuznetsov. – International Congress “Cardiology at a Crossroad of Sciences” has already become one of the best in the world.

This year our distinctive feature was the Forum “Days of the Belarusian Cardiology in Russia”, which was held for the first time in Russia, right in Tyumen Cardiology Research Center. High-level professionals came from the Republic of Belarus. It is a real friendship of peoples, which promotes exchange of valuable experience. We should join our forces with our colleagues for the benefit of all patients”.

Vadim A. Kuznetsov pointed a magnificent workshop on cardiosurgery, made by Professor Yuriy P. Ostrovskiy and invited everyone to forthcoming World Congress on Echocardiography and Cardiovascular Ultrasound and expressed his gratitude to all participants and organizers.

Marina I. Bessonova, Acting Director of Tyumen Cardiology Research Center thanked the Cetner staff, faculties, participants, sponsors: “This is a huge collaborative work. Joining our efforts we are moving to our main goal – our patients` health”.

Liudmila I.Gapon, MD, PhD, Professor, Head of Scientific Division of Clinical Cardiology, Scientific Leader of the Department of Arterial Hypertension expressed special words of gratitude to physicians-participants from the northern towns: “We have a pleasure of your participation in our International Congress every year and hope we have further fruitful cooperation”.

It should be reminded, that one of the main issues for experts` discussion traditionally was diagnostics and treatment of arterial hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, vascular pathology, rheumatoid arthritis, syncopal states in children-sportsmen etc. Genetic studies in cardiology included in the Congress Program 2019 were of great interest to participants. Separate Symposium was devoted to this issue.

“I have attended the May Congress in Tyumen long ago, - Margarita Porokhina shared her feedback, - I always like the organization. We have seen that Tyumen Cardiology Research Center has moved ahead and developed from year to year. The Belarusian speakers were of great interest to me. I do like all of their reports. All data were presented as clearly and well-structured as possible; the topics covered were really up to date”.

“Multi-aspect Conferences concerning absolutely different issues of cardiology and relevant fields of current interest have been holding during 3 days. Yesterday I was at the section devoted to a sudden cardiac death. I have found out a lot of new information”, - told Tatiana Dolzhnikova, one more participant.

On the third day of the Congress, poster presentation competition was summarized. Upon decision of the Commission, the study of our researchers (authors: N. Shirokov, V. Kuznetsov, A. Soldatova, S. Dyachkov, D. Krinochkin) “Mechanical dyssynchrony as a predictor of the cardiac resynchronization therapy super-response at the long period of observation” took first prize.

The second prize was awarded to the study of Tomsk National Research Medical Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (authors: V. Mordovin, I. Zyubanova, S.Pekarskiy, T. Ripp, A. Falkovskaya, V.Lichikaki, E. Sitkova, A.Bayev) specialists “The long-term hypotensive and organoprotective effects of renal denervation in patients with resistant arterial hypertension”.

The third prize was awarded to one more team of our medical center with the study “Additional predictors of left atrial appendage thrombosis in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation which are not included in the score CHA2-DS2-VAS2” (authors: T. Gizatulina, N. Horkova, A.Belokurova, A. Rychkov, V.Kharats, L. Martyanova, E.Gorbatenko).
