Interventional cardiologists of Tyumen Cardiology Research Center presented the newest treatment methods at Medical Forum.
The VI annual Transradial Endovascular Course (TREK) - one of the leading symposiums in Russia in the field of an intervention cardioangiology was held in St. Petersburg on January 17-19, 2019.
More than 600 beginners and already experienced specialists from 11 countries of the world became participants of the Course including our experts Igor Zyrianov, Head, Department of X-ray Surgical Methods for Diagnosis and Treatment #1, MD, PhD, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, and Stanislav Sapozhnikov, interventional cardiologist of X-ray and Surgical Methods of Diagnostics and Treatment #1.
Zyrianov I. participated as a moderator of section “Different aspects of transradial endovascular surgery” and Sapozhnikov S. made an oral presentation “My most interesting case of transradial intervention in coronary and/or peripheral system in 2018.”
“I presented new endovascular methods for false aneurysm of radial artery treatment, - told Dr. Sapozhnikov, - it is an alternative to surgical treatment. Nobody in the world can carry out such a treatment. We were the first in Russia who told about it. Last year we applied for a patent, we are going to get a response soon.”
Our scientists noted that in addition to basic course the pre-course on questions of intravascular imaging and coronary physiology was held.
“These questions are still insufficiently available, but taking into account the importance and prospects of interventional optimization, the organizers of the platform paid special attention to them, - explains Dr. Sapozhnikov. – Such diagnostics methods as intravascular ultrasound and optical coherence tomography have been applied at our medical center about 5 years ago. These technologies allow observing internal structure of a vessel, to estimate character of lesion, to improve the intervention results of difficult cases.
Besides, we had an opportunity to talk to dr. F. Kimney (Netherlands) a founder of Transradial endovascular surgery in person.
It should be noted, that we have used transradial intervention in our surgeries since 2010, it means intervention through the radial artery not through the femoral artery”.
What is more, the subject matter of a course is devoted to the up-to-date problems of intervention cardioangiology: coronary, peripheral and multifocal atherosclerotic lesions of an arterial system, the optimal tactics and treatment strategy, new appliances and recommendations for low-invasive atherosclerosis treatment of different arterial basins.
Besides, other professional issues, in particular, problem of specialist trainings, new developments offered by domestic and foreign manufacturers were highlighted. Like previous courses, foreign world experts participated in the work of the event.
