Today Minsk physicians have arrived to Tyumen within the framework of widespread agreement of scientific cooperation between Tomsk National Research Medical Center and Belarusian State Medical University. During the week, Tatiana Statkevich and Elena Grigorenko, PhDs, Associate professors, are going to have internships on up-to-date issues of cardiovascular diseases diagnostics and treatment. Our medical center staff greeted guests at working meeting. Vadim A. Kuznetsov, Deputy Director of Tyumen Cardiology Research Center - branch of Tomsk National Research Medical Center of RAS, Professor, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation mentioned: “We are pleased to host Belarusian colleagues. Hope both sides will spend this week productively. There are very innovative medical approaches in Belarus, particularly organ transplantation. We have got something to learn from each other. Within our International Congress “Cardiology at a Crossroad of Sciences”, which will be held next year in May, this is the first time we plan the Forum “Days of the Belarusian Cardiology in Russia”. We are waiting for a big delegation of leading specialists and hope everything will go at high level. In addition, we have been organizing interactive joint consiliums between Minsk and Tyumen. It is technically possible. Interaction with variety of Academy Science schools promises a favorable outcome. So, our cooperation is going to be strengthened. »
Vladimir F. Shuglya, Honorary Consul-General of the Republic of Belarus in Tyumen (Russian Federation), and a good friend of our medical center supported the Forum “Days of the Belarusian Cardiology in Russia” and also joined the greeting speech. “Belarus is the closest Russian ally, similar in spirit and ancestry. Effective collaboration has been developing for many years, but during the period of my work there have been the first visit of not only cardiologists, but physicians in a broad sense. And namely Tyumen Cardiology Research Center have played a significant role, – mentioned Vladimir F. Shuglya. - I am sure all the knowledge, which physicians get during the meetings, will be applied in practice and useful for both sides. I hope the visit will give high results, to have a feedback, first of all for population, for people. »
Collaboration Agreement between Tomsk National Research Medical Center of RAS and Belarusian State Medical University was signed not very long ago, but the visit of Elena Grigorenko and Tatiana Statkevich has been the first within this Agreement. In many respects, the result of such a scientific contact is acquaintanceship of Natalia P. Mitkovskaya, a well-known lecturer, scientist and Vadim A. Kuznetsov, MD, PhD, FESC, FACC, FISCU, Professor, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation. «They gave us an opportunity to develop collaboration not only at present time, but in the long term too. The most interesting issue for us is the spectrum of cardiac care organization in your region, because nowadays the structure, logistics and roadmaps are the basis for a successful care of cardiac patients. We hope that our practical and scientific experience will be useful for you.”- Elena Grigorenko commented. Tatiana V. Statkevich, PhD, Associate Professor of Cardiology and Internal Diseases Department of Belarusian State Medical University, Deputy Head of International Development Department, added: «It is a great honor and pleasure to be at institution which is known to the whole society of cardiology. Tyumen Cardiology Research Center has a huge scientific research base and represents a structure, which leads to a great future due to its hard work. We have already felt how our nations are close to each other, though we arrived just yesterday: it is a people kinship, a desire to help, to take care, to give advice. »
An acquaintance tour of Ultrasound Diagnostics Department and Clinical and Diagnostic Laboratory was held to guests. Heads of Departments told about capabilities of our equipment, scientific studies and researches, about diagnostic methods. “An internship will consist of two sections. The first will be theoretical. Within this section, the implementation in studies and clinical practice will be discussed. Furthermore, issues of epidemiology and organization of medical care will be touched upon. The second section will be practical. It includes a discussion and an analysis of clinical cases, activities with visualized exercise stress tests. We mainly work with radial diagnostics, MRI (Magnetic resonance imaging) and computer tomography. Some types of studies are new for us and differ from the ones we use and that is why they provoke a lively interest. This experience is important and needful for us to expand a safe diagnostic care. Now modern cardiology is impossible without strong instrumental and laboratory diagnostics. We are open to a dialogue and we have many joint project proposals,” – guests shared.
