V All-Russian scientific-practical conference “Modern Treatment of Acute Coronary Syndrome” with the support of European initiative “Stent-Save a Life” was held in Moscow on 7-8 September 2018. Leading Russian and foreign cardiologists, specialists in the field of endovascular and surgical treatment of acute coronary syndrome took part in the conference. The team of Tyumen Cardiology Research Center was awarded a first-degree diploma for the best study presentation.
Igor P. Zyryanov, MD, PhD, Deputy Director for Scientific Research and Treatment, Senior Non-Staff Specialist of X-ray Endovascular Diagnostics and Treatment in the Ural Federal District, Head of the Department of X-ray Surgical Methods for Diagnosis and Treatment of Cardiovascular Diseases No.1, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, and Ivan S. Bessonov, MD, PhD, physician of X-ray and Endovascular Methods for Diagnosis and Treatment, Scientific Researcher, made an oral presentation.
Ivan Bessonov explained that the conducted research casts light on the issue of effective endovascular interventions in patients with myocardial infarction. It has been proved now that percutaneous coronary interventions allow to reduce mortality and disability. However, there is no correct answer to the question what is the best way to perform such interventions to a concrete patient, there is no personalized approach, which may increase the effectiveness of surgery. Having performed more than 1000 emergency surgeries, we proved that the stent implantation directly into thrombosis region in case of a total coronary occlusion allows to improve the results of surgery. It happens due to reduction of incidences of blood clot fragments artery embolizations. This observation has much practical significance and we are glad that we have achieved the highest expert score”.
Within the Forum Igor Zyryanov took part in the Commission Session for X-ray Endovascular Diagnostics and Treatment of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation. Together with the colleagues, they discussed ways for aid provision to patients with myocardial infarction, also he presented a clinical case of a complex patient with acute coronary syndrome treatment. “The key message of this meeting is development of modern myocardial infarction network all over Russia. - mentioned our participants - Moscow has shown an excellent example of such a network: 36 emergency care centers which provide 24-hour medical assistance have been opened over a two-year period. Tyumen is keeping up: cardiovascular centers in Tyumen and Tyumen region have been equipped with up-to-date apparatus and qualified staff”.
Conference organizers are Russian Scientific Society of X-ray Endovascular Diagnostics and Treatment specialists and Russian Society of Cardiology. The basic aim of initiative “Stent for Life” is to improve access to the lifesaving revascularization treatment of patients suffering from acute coronary syndromes and support European guidelines for clinical practice at the national and regional levels by strategy development, creation and implementation of education programs and organization of information campaigns.
