Tyumen scientists proved that hostility and depression are mortality risk factors. Georgiy Pushkarev, MD, PhD, Scientific Researcher of Laboratory of Instrumental Diagnostics, ultrasound physician, presented a report at annual meeting of European Association of Preventive Cardiology - EuroPrevent-2018, which was held in Ljubljana, Slovenia on April 19-21, 2018.

The main theme of EuroPrevent-2018 is prevention of cardiovascular diseases through optimizing physical activity, nutrition and sleep routine. For instance, Swiss cardiological studies revealed that patients, who had suffered a heart attack, should not avoid physical activity. Scientists noted: exercises and active lifestyle may significantly decline early mortality. Georgiy Pushkarev delivered 7 poster presentations and was highly appreciated by experts.

One of our presentation was moderated and attendees had time to make some questions. Our scientist presented study results about the impact of depression on mortality risk from all factors in patients with heart failure after pacemaker implantation surgeries. A report on psychosocial risk factors was delivered too: our researchers were studying the impact of hostility on mortality risk after coronary stenting procedure. This study was highly commended and it is intended to publish in foreign scientific journals. It is very pleasant to be among the Russian experts at such a high-level conference.

It should be mentioned that G. Pushkarev participated in the largest congress of the American Heart Association in Orlando on March 2018 and presented a report about patient emotional conditions: anxiety, depression, stresses and social factors (work position, income, education). Scientists study revealed income levels and education had a direct impact on life expectancy. Low-income people were at a higher risk of fatal outcome.

G. Pushkarev told that the first day was devoted to digital medicine: "Computer software developments and phone applications help physician and patients to improve treatment adherence, to follow medical recommendations on drugs administration. Nowadays, it is quite a big problem and scientists`researches will allow to solve it. We are also going to develop this direction in Russia."
