EuroEcho-Imaging 2017, an annual international congress on ultrasound technologies, took place in Lisbon (Portugal) on 6-9 December. Dmitriy Krinochkin, MD, PhD, Head of Department of Ultrasound Diagnostics, participated in the Congress on behalf of Tyumen Cardiology Research Center. He delivered two poster presentations based on the latest researches of the institute.
Dr. Krinochkin says, “We keep up the European recommendations. There is a big scope of work in future designs and innovations we are planning to implement. Last year we started to test contrast agents in ultrasound examinations. Their application improved the image quality, raised diagnostics level, decreased uncertain results. That is why we do not have to use cardiac computer tomography or angiography. Nobody but us is using contrast echocardiography in the Tyumen region.”
EuroEcho-Imaging is one of the biggest and prestigious scientific forums in Europe. This year more than 3230 people from 90 countries visited the event. During four days participants got introduced to the latest achievements in non-invasive diagnostics of cardiovascular diseases, listened to the leading specialists, passed educational training at the exhibition of the equipment and material for heart and vessels imaging.
