Russian National Congress of Cardiology, one of the main scientific and medical events in Russia, was held in Saint Petersburg within 24-27 October. It is justly considered to be the most established scientific and educational platform with more than 6000 participants from various regions of Russia and leading foreign scientists and clinicists. Traditionally, a big delegation of doctors and scientists from Tyumen Cardiology Research Center, Tomsk NRMC presented their new achievements and researches at the Congress.
Scientific program of the Congress included 139 symposia. Besides, six symposia were organized together with foreign societies of cardiology. 141 posters were presented. Abstract book contained more than 1000 abstracts from different cities of Russia and CIS countries. Several social projects were presented at the Congress such as “Care is…”, “Say “YES” to a healthy heart”, “Dress up red!”, which were aimed at the prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
Professor Ludmila Gapon, MD, PhD, Head of Scientific Division of Clinical Cardiology, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, National Expert on Arterial Hypertension, and Ekaterina Akimova, MD, PhD, Head of Tyumen Cardiology Center laboratory for epidemiology and prevention of cardiovascular diseases, were chairmen of symposia, plenary sessions and also they delivered their oral presentations at the Congress. Team of Tyumen specialists delivered three poster presentations (two of them in cooperation with Tomsk scientists): “Gender differences in attitude to smoking depending on education and labor character in city population of 25-64 years”, “Tactic approaches in catheter ablations of supraventricular tachyarrhythmia of topically complicated localizations”, “Association of depression with inflammatory markers in patients with chronic heart failure after cardiac resynchronization therapy”. Elena Yaroslavskaya, MD, PhD, ultrasound diagnostics specialist, Senior Scientific Researcher at Tyumen Cardiology Research Center, told that this year special interest was devoted to the session on the obesity in cardiovascular diseases. She said, “Now estimation of this risk factor is being reconsidered. The audience was also interested in the impact of bowel dysbacteriosis on cardiovascular system.”
At the Congress special attention was devoted to the digital and telemedical technologies, their influence on the patient’s life, new opportunities for the medicine. Tyumen Cardiology Research Center was one of the organizers of the symposium “Cardiology in 0 and 1”. Chairmen were V.Kuznetsov, Professor, Honoured Scientist of the Russian Federation, and S. Matskeplishvili, Professor, Corresponding Member of Russian Academy of Sciences. At this symposium Elena Yaroslavskaya demonstrated the register of coronary angiography, one of the greatest Russian electronic databases for better diagnosis of coronary atherosclerosis, Sergey Diachkov, Junior Scientific Researcher from Tyumen Cardiology Research Center, made a report about the work of clinical system cardiology decision making support.
