Tyumen was chosen to be a platform for implementation of the federal project «Your new start» by the Ecological Chamber of Russia. Within this program an educational course on the Nordic Walking was held in Tyumen Cardiology Research Center. 30 instructors and exercise therapy physicians from the city and regional institutions have passed their skills upgrade doing practice and listening to the lectures.
The tutor of this course was Olga Krupenina, Head of Eco-tourism Department, a certified instructor in Nordic Walking. She told about the origin of the northern (Nordic) Walking, about development of this sport in Russia, correct choice of the poles, shoes, etc. At the practical activity, in the park opposite Tyumen Cardiology Research Center, participants received advice and individual recommendations about training. Moscow tutor demonstrated various techniques of Walking, exercises for muscles relaxation and many other things. Each participant got a personal certificate.
Olga explained, "Support of Tyumen Cardiology Research Center is highly important for us. Nordic Walking is a sport for more than 20 million people in the world, young and old. Walking is the most efficient emotion; it encourages regeneration and helps to avoid many diseases. It burns fat even more effectively than jogging." Elena Zabelina, Instructor of Exercise Therapy Department of Tyumen Cardiology Research Center and a participant of the course, told, “I really liked the course; it was interesting, useful, easy. It is great that we can improve our knowledge. I am going to apply the received skills at the exercises with patients.”
