Clinical and diagnostic laboratory of Tyumen Cardiology Research Center takes part in the international program of external quality assurance service (EQAS). The system is designed abroad for independent reliable evaluation of the research quality conducted in the various countries of the world. Up to 2017 laboratory of Cardiology Center has been estimated by the Federal system of external quality assurance service, but now there is an opportunity to get a qualified estimation at the international level, to compare results with the other countries. Only two Tyumen institutions participate in this program.
The main laboratory areas are under quality control: hematology, immunochemistry, clinical chemistry and coagulation. The Center receives control biomaterials which are involved in the work as blood of a regular patient. The research results are submitted for the control procedure in the online mode.
Svetlana Leonovich, Head of Clinical and Diagnostic Laboratory, informed us about the first results, ‘Participation in this program allows us to reveal potential mistakes in the work of reagents or equipment. Estimation of the foreign independent colleagues is highly important. The results showed that researches of our lab are performed correctly, according to the international quality standard. It means that our physicians and patients can be sure about accuracy of the analysis.’
Within the program the staff of Tyumen Cardiology Research Center laboratory had a chance to ask a question regarding researches to their foreign colleagues and the answer is under preparation now. In the end of all the stages of the program, laboratory of the Center will receive the internationally recognized certificate of quality.
