On December, 16 a scientific conference took place in Tyumen Cardiology Research Center where leading neurologists and cardiologists from Moscow, Yekaterinburg and Tyumen participated. The conference was organized by Tyumen Healthcare Department, Tyumen State Medical University, Association of neurologists of the Tyumen region and Tyumen Cardiology Research Center.
Lyudmila Reykhert, MD, PhD, Chief Neurologist of Tyumen greeted all guests, "Experience comes when it is possible to consolidate knowledge of different experts. Our annual conference is an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences."
Pavel Kamchatnov, MD, PhD, from Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, presented a report about current lumbar pain treatment. He noted that Russia had more specialists in neurology than other counties in the world." Before now, people didn't pay much attention to back pain. But today treatment costs for patients with lumbar pain are nearly the same as emergency costs. It is a disease of civilization. From young age people should control the symptoms and do physical exercises regularly." Expert also reminded that unlike the foreign practice which included reduction of pain syndrome by opioids, in Russia physiotherapy, intravenous injections, vitamins intake formed a treatment basis.
Other reports were submitted: "Melatonin: the amazing diversity of physiological effects" by Professor Denis Gubin, MD, PhD (Tyumen); «Myofascial syndrome. Problems in diagnosis and treatment.» by Professor Vasily Shirokov, MD, PhD (Ekaterinburg); "How to unite efforts dealing with encephalitic complications of arterial hypertension" by Professor Ludmila Gapon, MD, PhD (Tyumen).
Nearly 60 therapists, cardiologists and neurologists from Tyumen and the Tyumen region were involved in the conference work.
