ESC Congress was held in Rome within 27-31 August this year. It is considered one of the greatest and significant events in the world medicine. Annually it gathers physicians, scientists and health care organizers from around the world.
This year Pope Francis greeted the forum participants in person and expressed gratitude to the physicians and scientists for the noble labor, wished them fruitful work. Congress-2016 hit the record of visiting – 35 000 delegates from 135 countries of the world, including 400 specialists from Russia took part in the event. Around 6607 abstracts have been published in the scientific material of the Congress.
Anna Soldatova, MD, Scientific Researcher of Laboratory of Instrumental Diagnostics of Tyumen Cardiology Research Center, said, «It was a great honor to present 3 posters at this top-level event. My poster was devoted to patient selection for cardiac resynchronization therapy. This up-to-date issue is in priority and joint co-ordinated work of cardiologists, surgeons, ultrasonic diagnostics specialists is required. Our poster presented data allowing to improve patient selection and, consequently, to reduce amount of patients with negative respond to treatment. 3 great sessions were devoted to this issue. This poster received positive reviews from the audience, lots of questions were asked».
Poster of Georgiy Pushkarev, MD, a specialist of ultrasound diagnostics, Scientific Researcher of Laboratory of Instrumental Diagnostics from Tyumen Cardiology Research Center, was estimated as the best scientific work presented for the poster session at the ESC Congress. Having high scientific value, the poster of Pushkarev got the status «Best poster» and together with other best researches was broadcasted on multimedia screens during the Congress. According to the researcher, his work was devoted to study of psychological and social risk factors in patients with coronary artery disease after percutaneous coronary interventions.
The third poster was about early diagnostics of coronary atherosclerosis (target was to reveal persons who may get myocardial infarction despite their seemed healthy condition. It will give a chance to design the program of monitoring and treatment to prevent infarction).
The next ESC Congress will be held in Barcelona in 2017.
