Surgeons of Tyumen Cardiology Center make interventions to patients with rare pathologies

Often surgeons of Tyumen Cardiology Center perform operations to patients who several years ago could be treated only by the most complicated interventions. There are people with rare pathologies among them and other clinics often refuse to operate them. Tyumen Cardiology Center provided medical care to several patients with rare pathologies last week. Specialists of Department of X-ray and Surgery Methods of Diagnostics and Treatment №1 conducted angiography (vessels examination) to a patient with rare anatomic structure of coronary arteries. She had unusual tortuous vessels. Other clinics refused to operate her. She was saved due to long-term experience in performing such kind of operations, top-level skills of the surgeons and individual approach to treatment. Another patient with deformed vessels (because of long arterial hypertension) had angioplasty with stenting done. Stanislav Sapozhnikov, MD, an interventional cardiologist, says, “Operation result depends not only on skills and experience of a surgeon but also on the modern equipment and consumables at our disposal. This operation required maximum mobilization and high professionalism. Intervention lasted one hour and a half and it succeeded.” Ivan Bessonov, MD, an interventional cardiologist, described other clinical cases, “Once we performed an unusual operation to a patient with vasorenal arterial hypertension (a hypertension with renal misperfusion) and left renal artery stenosis. This pathology is quite rare. Stenting of renal artery gave the result we required – blood pressure came back to normal.” Interventional cardiologists of Tyumen Cardiology Center are always ready to make a try.
