Tyumen Cardiology Center held an Open day for senior pupils on 22nd of March. The idea belonged to Career Guidance Center. The main target of this project is to introduce pupils to the leading factories and companies of the region. Seniors are learning to define perspectives of a factory, quality of the working places, et.al. on their own. This knowledge allows to choose their future occupation.
Elena Samoilova, a cardiologist, delivered a presentation about the history and main achievements of Tyumen Cardiology Center staff. She also told pupils about modern diagnostics and treatment of cardiac diseases (percutaneous coronary interventions, intravascular ultrasound, radio frequency and cryo ablation, implantation of cardioverters defibrillators, etc.). Elena Martynova, Scientific Secretary of Tyumen Cardiology Center, added that young specialists willing to work at the Center must have high education level, high English knowledge level and knowledge of the latest updates in cardiology and cardiac surgery.
Later pupils had a tour around Tyumen Cardiology Center departments. They visited modern operation rooms, clinical and diagnostic laboratory and Department of ultrasound diagnostics.
Open day showed that many senior pupils who have not made a choice of future occupation are interested in medicine, because it is a perspective and interesting area of work.
