VI International Congress «Cardiology at a crossroad of sciences» was held on 20-22 May 2015 in Tyumen, Russia in conjunction with the X International Symposium of Echocardiography and Vascular Ultrasound and ХХII Annual International Conference «Cardiology Update». The meeting was devoted to 30-years anniversary of Tyumen Cardiology Center.
Prof. Vadim Kuznetsov, Director of Tyumen Cardiology Center, summed it up and thanked participants and organizers for the excellent work and expressed gratitude to Tyumen region Government for their support. ‘Great thanks to foreign specialists who have found an opportunity to come to Tyumen. I invite everyone to our next Congress which opens on May 18 in 2016. Please come here again and take your colleagues.’ Vadim Kuznetsov applied to the participants.
Scientists and physicians from 37 cities of Russia and 14 countries visited the Congress this year. The leading experts from the USA, Sweden, Spain, Great Britain, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Latvia, etc. delivered their lectures at the event. More than 50 speakers took part in the Congress and 226 abstracts were included into the Abstract Book. According to the participants’ opinion there was a very successful selection of faculties and lectures. During 3 Congress days specialists were able to share the latest achievements in ultrasound diagnostics, interventional treatment of heart diseases, to discuss new approaches to rehabilitation of patients after interventions, actual issues of cardiovascular prevention and diagnostics and many others interesting issues.
One of the most interesting events at the meeting was International Echocardiography Tournament organized by Professor Thomas Binder, Head of Echocardiography Laboratory of Cardiology Department at Medical University of Vienna (Austria). «The meeting was held in the format of the quiz show - said the Chairman of the Board of Young Scientists of Tyumen Cardiology Center Dr. Anna Soldatova. - For each correct answer – it was just 23 questions – a participant received points. Interesting cases from clinical practice were considered as well. Everything went off very lively, we have received a lot of information to discuss, it was interesting to hear the comments of a foreign expert».
Guests of the Congress visited the clinic of Cardiology Center and also had tours around historical sightseeings of Tyumen. On May 22, the last day of the Congress, a creative program was introduced. The beloved of all band «Rhythms of the Heart» performed inspiring songs. Thus, the Congress has become one of the biggest events organized at the year of fighting with cardiovascular diseases.
