83d Congress of European Atherosclerosis Society «EAS-2015» took place in Glasgow (Great Britain) on 22-25 March. The meeting is held annually and is considered to be one of the most expected events in the global cardiology. This year there were more than 1500 visitors from 77 countries all over the world.
For years the main targets of the congress are knowledge exchange, training for physicians, implementation of new technologies and approaches to treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Communication with world famous scientists is an enormous advantage of this forum.
Prof. Vadim Kuznetsov, Director of Tyumen Cardiology Center, presented achievements of Tyumen scientists. He delivered 4 poster presentations devoted to psychosocial factors in patients after percutaneous coronary interventions and gender differences of coronary artery disease. Moreover, 3 poster presentations were created by a group of scientists from scientific department of clinical cardiology (Department of Arterial Hypertension and Department of Emergency Cardiology of Tyumen Cardiology Center).
Also this year at the Congress in Glasgow there were discussed such important issues as: latest achievements of visualization of unstable atherosclerotic plaques in coronary arteries; standard treatment and therapeutic approaches to prevention of cardiovascular diseases; innovative researches of regulation of lipid and lipoproteins metabolism.
