Echo Course was held within Russian National Congress of Cardiology

At the Russian National Congress of Cardiology, which took place on 24-26 September 2014 in Kazan (Russia) Course on Echocardiography prepared by the Russian Working Group on Echocardiography of the Russian Society of Cardiology was held.

About 100 participants: cardiologists, therapists, functional and ultrasound diagnostics specialists, interested in knowledge and skills in echocardiography attended Echo Course.

Such important issues as quantification of heart chambers, estimation of left ventricular systolic and diastolic function, advanced assessment of valve disease, modern imaging models of cardiovascular mechanics, non-invasive diagnosis of stable coronary artery disease, echocardiography-guided interventions, and echocardiography in emergency cardiology were discussed at 10 imaging sessions of the Course. In addition, hands-on sessions on deformation imaging and 3D echocardiography were held and clinical echo cases were presented with participation of young scientists - winners of young cardiologists echo contest. All sessions were of great interest to participants.

The following leading Russian specialists spoke and presented at Echo Course: Simon Matskeplishvili, Yuriy Vasyuk, Evgeny Shkolnik, Alla Khadzegova, Marina Saidova, Vsevolod Sedov, Mikhail Alekhin, Mikhail Chernov (Moscow); Elena Pavlyukova (Tomsk), Artemy Ohotin (Tarusa). Tyumen was represented by Prof. Vadim Kuznetsov, Director of Tyumen Cardiology Center, and Dr. Anna Kozhurina. Special guest from the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging, Prof. Bogdan Popescu (Romania) delivered a lecture at the Course.
