Heart Day-2014 was held in Tyumen under the motto “Let’s take care of doctors’ health!”

On Saturday, September 27, a free cardiology examination for South Tyumen region doctors was held. Head of outpatient department Dr. Elena Gultyaeva explained why the medical workers have become the heroes of Heart Day-2014: “Results of scientific research confirm that people with higher education and of intellectual labour belong to the group of high cardiology risk. Worldwide and in Russia medical workers are subject to cardiovascular diseases not less than their patients. They are burning out at work, always under pressure - surely to provide qualified medical help is not so easy, it is necessary to put our heart and power into it. Mostly, doctors have non-standard working day with night shifts, that’s why there’s just no time to visit a specialist. The main target of our offer is to prevent and reveal cardiovascular diseases progress in time”.

It appeared that doctors really have the necessity to pass examination. “I arrived from far away, but sure – it’s not for nothing. There are no doubts of the Tyumen specialists highest work level. I actually see patients suffering from heart diseases but there is no time for myself. Workload keeps me from examination. That’s why the offer is a great opportunity finally to pay attention to myself”, - pointed out anesthesiologist from V.N. Shanaurin Region hospital 14, Victor Popov. Surgeon of Yarkovo hospital, German Mezhnikov agrees with him: “We were slightly surprised when received an invitation, but later understood that cardiologists are right saying that heart condition should be regularly observed. Besides the start should be not in 70 but in 30-40 years old. I have been operating during more than 30 years and always worrying for my patients as any surgeon. Profession of a doctor requires emotional pressure. I can give an advice to everyone – it is important to eat healthy products, to move more, and to be in a good mood.”

Primary care physician of rural area Berdyuzhye region hospital №8, Olga Philipova also got to know about this idea the first: “I was glad that even we, doctors, can come for examination with no waiting in line by walk-in way. We have no time for ourselves, I have not even submitted tests for sugar and cholesterol for several years already. Today I have passed examination and coming back home to continue work but with health recommendations.”

Under autumn offer doctors passed complex cardiology examination which included biochemical tests with lipid profile, ECG, echocardiographic examination, exercise tests, cardiologist consultation. Medical workers have also passed other examinations prescribed individually if necessary. As a result more than 40 doctors of different specialties from Tobolsk, Ishim, Yalutorovsk, Zavodoukovsk and also rural areas Aromashevo, Berdyuzhye, Vagay, Vikulovo, Armizonskoe, Uvat, Yarkovo, etc, have examined their health on the Heart Day.

Annually Tyumen Cardiology Center invites citizens and Tyumen region residents for Healthy Heart Day. Recent years’ projects: cardiology express examination, walks with cardiologists, football match between surgeons and patients and many others.
