Sportsmen of the largest hockey clubs in Tyumen “Rubin” visited doctors of Tyumen Cardiology Center. Specialists of the Center developed a special diagnostic complex for people with high levels of physical activity, which includes ECG, cardiac ultrasound, treadmill test, X-ray diagnostics, biochemical tests and 24-hour ECG monitoring. The results of the examination and the detailed medical recommendations will help hockey teams’ doctor together with the coach to control the amount and intensity of training loads of their players.
“Professional sportsmen should take particular care on their cardiovascular system,” told Dr. Lidia Makarenko, cardiologist of higher category, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation. “Millions of people around the world are engaged in physical culture and sports. Unreasonable exercise can adversely affect the circulatory system and cause the formation of deconditioning syndrome (syndrome of reduced work capacity). Complex of changes in the body of sportsmen creates prerequisites as for high risk of sudden death, and for rapid progression of already existing or newly emerging cardiovascular diseases, so it is important to keep track of these changes,” – said Lidia. Tyumen athletes have been choosing specialists of Tyumen Cardiology Center as health experts for a number of years.
This year more than eighty members of the hockey club “Rubin”, including players and staff, were diagnosed in Tyumen Cardiology Center.
