Today the ceremonial opening of the V International Congress «Cardiology at a Crossroad of Sciences», where Russian and foreign participants will discuss the latest researches and advances of world cardiology, has been held in Tyumen Cardiology Center. The world’s best professionals fr om the USA, Germany, the Netherlands, Israel will present their lectures and reports. The Congress will last three days.
At the opening the guests of the forum were welcomed by young Tyumen musicians. They were the pupils of Znamenskiy Children’s School of the Art, the laureates of city, regional, all-Russian and international competitions, the flutists Ivan Kuznetsov and Pavel Gromyko, as well as the winner of the city and regional musical competitions, young talented musician Evgeniy Krinochkin, who played the composition “The Prelude in G Minor” on the piano. Natalia A. Shevchik, First Deputy Governor of Tyumen region made a greeting speech, “Cardiologists meet regularly in Tyumen. This fact triggers scientific research, discussions, solving the most relevant issues. Undoubtedly, important for the medical community’s topics will be discussed. I express my gratitude to Tyumen Cardiology Center wh ere such meetings are always held in a proper manner. I’m sure that all presentations which will be done during the Congress will emotionally impress everybody”.
Deputy of Tyumen Regional Duma, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation Tamara P. Belokon thanked cardiologists for their job, aimed at reducing mortality from cardiovascular diseases and prevention of heart diseases. She also noted that first of all our doctors and scientists’ job is connected with increasing of life expectancy of employable population not only in Tyumen region but in the whole country.
President of the Congress, Director of Tyumen Cardiology Center Vadim Kuznetsov reminded that scientific meetings have been annually held for 21 years already. “At first there were small interregional conferences and now we hold large international forums, which attract hundreds of people. I am grateful to everybody who took part in the Congress organizing, to all guests who could come to Tyumen. I would like to thank Government of Tyumen Region for their support and, of course, our colleagues from «Research Institute for Cardiology» of Siberian Branch under the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (Tomsk)”. Vadim Anatolevich added that today’s main result of scientists and doctors’ collaboration is persistent reducing mortality from cardiovascular diseases in Tyumen region”.
After the opening the first report was presented by the world-famous scientist, who is considered to be a mentor for all doctors of ultrasound diagnostics - Professor Nelson Schiller - Head of Cardiology Department of the University of California Medical Center (San Francisco, USA). “In recent years I have been dealing with heart rhythm disturbances, including implantation of various devices to treat them. At the Congress we will talk about the problem of left atrium enlargement and pulmonary hypertension”, told honorable American guest.
At the second and third days of the Congress the participants will visit the session on echocardiography and vascular ultrasound, symposium on coronary syndrome, workshop on programming of pacemakers and other lectures. During the forum the contest of posters presentation will be held and on September 23 at the Closing Ceremony its results will be announced.
