Mikhail M. Kotyukov, Head of the Russian Federal Agency of Scientific Organizations, congratulated Tyumen Cardiology Center with the Day of Russian Science.
The Day of Russian Science is celebrated on February 8, the date of birth of the Russian Academy of Science, which was founded in 1724 by the Order of Emperor Peter I. Mikhail M. Kotyukov noted that for about three centuries of its history, Russian Academy has made a remarkable contribution to international science, bringing up a large number of outstanding scientists as well as making prominent scientific breakthroughs, great discoveries and amazing inventions. Science is a major power for economic, medical, educational and social development, therefore, the influence of Russian Academy of Science on progress in the society and country is really impressive. Moreover, people associate science with achieving modern knowledge about world as well as with expectations for improvement of the quality of life. Mikhail Mikhailovich mentioned that Russian scientists work at solving many problems including promoting upcoming directions in science, developing modern technologies and teaching young researchers.
