On 5-6 December 2013 the 13th Congress on Heart Failure was held in Moscow. Specialists of Tyumen Cardiology Center took part in the Congress and were granted an award.

Nikolay Melnikov, physician of the Ultrasound Diagnostics Department became a laureate of young scientists’ contest held within the Congress. His study “Super-response to cardiac resynchronization therapy in patients with congestive heart failure according to three-dimensional echocardiography” was presented in Moscow. “This study became the basis for my PhD thesis, - told Nikolay. –We observed patients with heart failure before and after placement of three-chamber pacemaker. Our task was to find out which patients had a positive reaction and due to what factor.” As the doctor confessed, he did not expect to become one of the laureates (10 persons from all over Russia were nominated). “This award for me is an acknowledgement of the method of cardiac resynchronisation therapy as topical and significant in the scientific community. And, of course, I am very happy that young scientists have an opportunity to present their study,” – N. Melnikov noted.
The famous Russian scientists were in the Competition jury: Prof. Yu.M. Lopatin, Board Chairman of the Russian Society of Heart Failure and Prof. Yu.N.
