The 3rd of October is a symbolic date for Tyumen Cardiology Center. 25 years ago, on October 3 our Director, Prof. Vadim Kuznetsov started his work in the center.


Vadim A. Kuznetsov was born on October 18, 1956 in Novosibirsk. He graduated with honors from Novosibirsk State Medical University in 1980. Kuznetsov has been working in Tyumen Cardiology Center since 1998: from 1988 to 1991 he was a Deputy Director for Science and since 1991 till nowadays he is Director of Tyumen Cardiology Center.
Possessing perfect organizational abilities and leadership qualities, being a purposeful person and having good interpersonal skills, Vadim A. Kuznetsov as a leader, succeeded in providing a stable work of the centre, keeping a scientific potential and found inducements for development of creative young people even in the conditions of great economic problems. After outliving different stages of making and development Tyumen Cardiology Center has come up to the level of leading cardiology centers of the country and reached the degree of a legendary team of Tyumen region due to the Director's active attitude and his creative approach.
Professor Vadim A. Kuznetsov is a co-author of about 850 publications, printed in Russian and foreign editions, and carries on a wide research-organizational and public work. In 2007, under the President's decree, Professor Kuznetsov was awarded by the honorary title “Honored scientist of the Russian Federation” for the outstanding achievements in science.
Vadim Kuznetsov is not only the main organizer of scientific conferences, forums and congresses, but also he inspires his colleagues and partners to different artistic explorations. Thus he was an initiator of the first “Poetic Contest” among medical workers of Tyumen, “Music Ring” – creative competition with a group of Tyumen Regional Clinical Hospital, and many other spectacular events.
Kuznetsov writes poems and translates songs of well-known music groups into Russian. In 2012 his third collection of poetry was issued ("On the Issue of Dimension”, 2006, “The Second Element”, 2011, “My Tertia”, 2012). He sings and plays the guitar in pop group of Tyumen Cardiology Center “The Rhythms of the Heart”.
Let us consider some other remarkable dates covering the past years.
In May 2010 Tyumen Cardiology Center celebrated its 25th anniversary of foundation. Today Cardiology Center is widely known in Russia and abroad for its achievements in innovative treatment of cardiovascular diseases. High technologies are successfully implemented in the center for a long time. Nowadays Tyumen Cardiology Center takes one of the leading places among 110 specialized hospitals of Russia in quality and quantity of operations being performed.
On November 22, 2010 Vadim Kuznetsov was honoured with “Fortune” Social Recognition Award in “Irreproachable Professional Reputation” category. This award is annually given to public leaders, politicians and entrepreneurs, whose work has a positive effect on social and economic growth of the city and the region.
On April 19, 2011 there were 20 years since Vadim Kuznetsov became the Director of Tyumen Cardiology Center. His talented leadership brought the center to excellent results, and the staff today is very proud of significant achievements in development and adoption of new prevention, diagnostics and treatment technologies in clinical practice.
On May 19, 2011 regarding the results of the 3rd Awarding Ceremony of the National Prize in cardiology “Purple Heart” Tyumen Cardiology Center won “The Best Medical Institution of the Year” award. There had been 63 applications submitted by physicians and institutions from around Russia. Leading clinics and centers of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ekaterinburg, Kemerovo, and Orenburg had been among the contestants in that nomination. Vadim Kuznetsov as the Head of Tyumen Cardiology Center was awarded the diploma of the winner and got a unique present – the Purple Heart chronograph. In November 2011 the project “TOP 50. Eminent people of Tyumen” tallied up the totals. The voting resulted in the first place of Vadim Kuznetsov in “Healthcare” category. The uniqueness of the project is in the unification of businessmen and artists, scientists and writers, sportsmen and musicians, producers and designers. Each of the participants has broken through in his or her field.
In September 2012 V.A. Kuznetsov was rewarded with Strazhesko medal "For merits in Health Care" – a national award of the Ukrainian Academy of Medical Sciences given for outstanding contribution to the development of medical science and achievements in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. The awarding ceremony took place within the 13th Ukrainian National Congress of Cardiology in Kiev. Moreover, the congress resulted in fruitful relationship and collaboration with Ukrainian specialists.
