Physicians of Tyumen Cardiology Center visited the largest Russian cardiology forum

On September 25-27, 2013 Russian National Congress of Cardiology which is considered to be the largest and the most significant event for Russian cardiologists and physicians of allied specialties was held in St. Petersburg. Traditionally the leading specialists of Tyumen Cardiology Center took part in the congress.


Veronika I. Skvortsova, Minister of Healthcare of the Russian Federation greeted the participants. She noted that the Congress creates a good base for active participation of the population in healthy lifestyle programs along with update professional medical education, social and preventive strategies, development of scientific and clinical guidelines and standards.
Physicians of Tyumen Cardiology Center presented two oral and six poster presentations at the Congress. Professor Lyudmila I. Gapon, Head of Scientific Division of Clinical Cardiology of Tyumen Cardiology Center, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation delivered a lecture within the joint educational course of European Hypertension Society and Russian Society of Cardiology. In the lecture she talked about the modern methods of treating resistant arterial hypertension when blood pressure remains high in spite of using three or more types of drugs.
Moreover, the Symposium “Innovative Cardiology in Siberia” was held where leading cardiologists of Tomsk, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk and Tyumen took part. Professor Kuznetsov shared Tyumen experience at this Symposium. Elena Yaroslavskaya, scientific researcher of the instrumental diagnostics laboratory of Tyumen Cardiology Center told: “The session attracted many participants. In general, the Congress was a big success with a good organization, new useful information and more than 5 000 attendees from 34 countries”.
Among the key topics of the Congress were congenital heart diseases, surgical treatment of cardiovascular diseases, prevention and rehabilitation of patients with heart diseases and others. Interactive discussions of innovative diagnostic and treatment technologies were very popular this year at the congress.
It should be noted that the congress was devoted to the 50th anniversary of the Russian Society of Cardiology, an authorized society that unites over 5 thousand specialists: physicians and researchers in cardiology and allied specialties. The Russian Society of Cardiology has branches in all regions of Russia and greatly contributes to the development of the Russian healthcare system, as well as to reduction of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality.
