On February 14 the annual conference “Cardiology: Advances and Prospects” took place in Salekhard. Modern methods of arterial hypertension and chronic heart failure treatment were the key topic of the meeting.
Leading specialists of Tyumen Cardiology Center shared the results of their work with cardiologists and therapists from Salekhard, discussed major problems in heart disease treatment and told about the recommendations given by the Russian and European Societies of Cardiology in 2012.
Head physician of Salekhard District Hospital Anatoliy V. Krupin welcomed the participants with an opening speech. The Director of the Cardiology Center, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Professor Vadim A. Kuznetsov told the colleagues about cardiac resynchronization therapy for heart failure treatment. Professor Alexander Yu. Rychkov, research supervisor of the Department of Heart Rhythm Disturbances, talked about guidelines for the management of atrial fibrillation and acute coronary syndrome. Professor Lyudmila I. Gapon, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, head of the Scientific Division of Clinical Cardiology, delivered a lecture on uncontrolled arterial hypertension.
Specialists from Tyumen Cardiology Center also met the Deputy Governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District Tatyana V. Buchkova and the Director of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District Department of Health Nikolay I. Vinokurov. “On the whole, the trip was very successful,” said Vladislav Yu. Smaznov, Deputy Director of the Cardiology Center. “We not only discussed the recent advances in cardiology but we also gained the support of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District Administration, which is very essential for our future cooperation.”
The day before the conference Tyumen doctors consulted patients from Salekhard District Hospital.
