On 4-6 February players from the “Rubin” hockey club will undergo a health check in Tyumen Cardiology Center. Within 3 days 58 hockey-players will be examined by doctors.

The Minor Hockey League’s representative and the captain of the “Tumenskiy Legion” team Danil Bocharov believes that sportsmen should have medical check-ups on a regular basis. «We undergo a medical examination every six months because during this time we experience intensive exercise stress,” he said. “To win we must keep fit. That is why it is so essential to look after our health.”
The sportsmen will be consulted by the head of the Outpatient Department Elena P. Gultyaeva. “Millions of people all over the world do sports, and the healthy influence of physical activity on a human’s body and cardiovascular system is an open secret,” the doctor said. “But there is the other side of the coin: all the changes in the body of a sportsman create the background both for high risk of sudden cardiac death and for rapid progression of already existing or new-onset cardiovascular diseases. Therefore it is crucial to monitor all these changes closely.” Cardiovascular diseases are one of the most frequent among sportsmen. That is why it is necessary for them to have their hearts examined every year. The results of the examinations held by Tyumen Cardiology Center and medical advice of the specialists will help hockey teams’ doctors to control the amount and intensity of training loads of their players.
