This year a new electrophysiology/catheterization laboratory outfitted with the most modern angiography equipment will start working in Tyumen Cardiology Center. The opening ceremony will take place on January 23d, 2013.
Using an angiography system about 2500 high-technology procedures are performed in the Cardiology Center every year. These are coronary angiography, angioplasty, stenting and interventions for treating arrhythmias. At the lab opening Grigory V. Kolunin, Head of the Department of X-ray Methods for Diagnostics and Treatment of Cardiovascular Disease, will tell about the new angiography equipment, its advantages for both operators and patients. The opening ceremony will be attended by representatives of Tyumen Regional Duma and Healthcare Department of the region.
“Quality and modern equipment plays an important role in providing positive outcomes of operations, and consequently improving quality of the patient`s life. That`s why this new lab is a very important event,” said Director of Tyumen Cardiology Center, Prof. Vadim A. Kuznetsov.
It should be noted that the new equipment will be used to perform procedures which refer to expensive high-technology medical care. Not least because of the price of the equipment. The angiography system itself costs more than 40 million rubles (about 1.5 million US dollars). However, people living Tyumen and Tyumen region can receive this high-technology medical care for free, at the expense of the regional budget.
With the new lab open, a wider range of high-technology interventions will be available for patients of Tyumen Cardiology Center.
