On October 22-26 the Annual Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics meeting (TCT 2012) was held in the USA (Miami). Interventional cardiologists of Tyumen Cardiology Center visited the forum.
The Congress usually takes place in Washington DC or San-Francisco. This year it was held in Miami for the first time. A record number of participants – 16.000 specialists all over the world visited it. The cardiologists of Tyumen Cardiology Center headed by Igor P. Zyryanov, MD, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, Head of Cath Lab, took part in several sessions of the Congress. “The feature of this forum is presentation of the latest developments and results of multicenter studies in cardiac catheterization”, said I. Zyryanov. “During the lectures there are live broadcastings of operations from the largest European clinics. It is a great possibility to observe the course of the operation and ask questions”.
Within the Congress the Russian Scientific and Practical Session was held. More than 200 cardiovascular surgeons, cardiologists, neurosurgeons and other specialists from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Tyumen, Yekaterinburg, etc. took part in it. Igor Zyryanov notes that the simulator trainings were of particular interest.
“Young scientists could test themselves on special training simulators”, he said. “Our participation in this Congress is certainly useful. I am sure that we will use obtained knowledge in our further work. We will also continue improving activity of Tyumen Cardiology Center in this direction”.
