On October 5, 2012 the First National Congress of the Russian Federation’s doctors was held in Moscow. More than 5000 doctors from all regions of Russia took part in discussion on new projects in the area of healthcare. There was Marina I. Bessonova, Head Doctor of Tyumen Cardiology Center, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, among them.


President of the Russian Federation Vladimir V. Putin, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitriy A. Medvedev, and Minister of Healthcare of the Russian Federation Veronika I. Skvortsova greeted participants. “The Congress is of vital importance. It is connected with the great issues, which the President and the Government of the Russian Federation address to domestic healthcare”, explained V. Skvortsova within her report. “Health of Russian people, as well as social and economic development of the country depends on effectiveness of our job”.
“In recent years medicine has made significant progress in treatment of diseases, which earlier caused patients’ suffering, disability and death”, said the delegates of the Congress to Russian population. “In the country healthcare is improving – medical institutions are being reconstructed, computer technologies are being developed, the system of medical education are being changed. Today we can say that Russian doctors, who was qualified in accordance with the most modern requirements, and who have essential resource base, are able to help people in situations that seem desperate”. The reminder of preventive measures and management of risk factors, due to which the most serious diseases occur, became the main appeal to Russian population.
Marina Bessonova noted that all reports presented at the Congress were very informative. “Great attention was given to the problem of the medical community’s role in the area of healthcare. The topics devoted to the prestige medical profession, innovative development of Russian Healthcare, personnel policy, etc. are also discussed”, told Dr. Bessonova. “Within the Congress the Programme of the draft resolution was accepted. According to it, human’s health, quality of life and social well-being are considered to be the immutable national priorities of our country. The trip was very productive and interesting. I am sure that it has already implemented new good changes in medicine”.
