Tyumen-Kiev: promising collaboration

On September 26-28, 2012 the XIII Ukrainian National Congress of Cardiology was held in Kiev. It was devoted to the discussion of the most burning issues related to cardiovascular system. Within the forum Strazhesko medal was awarded.


The eminent specialists from Ukraine, Russia, France, USA, Great Britain, Czech Republic, Slovenia, the Netherlands, Hungary, Japan and China took part in the Congress. President of the European Society of Cardiology, Professor Michel Komajda; Head of Chair and Department of Cardiology from Medical University of Lodz, Professor Jaroslaw Kasprzak; Professor A. Auricchio from Switzerland and other worldwide leading faculties spoke at the Congress. It should be noted that the event was directly supported by the Government of Ukraine.
On the first day of the forum Director of Tyumen Cardiology Center, Professor Vadim A. Kuznetsov and the President-Elect of the European Society of Cardiology, Professor Fausto Pinto were awarded with Strazhesko medal for outstanding contribution to the development of medical science and achievements in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases by the President of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Academician Andrey M. Serduk. “I am sincerely grateful to the Board members of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine for awarding me”, shared V. Kuznetsov his impression. “It was excellent trip, one of the best ones. I am especially glad that the trip has resulted in establishment of stable linkage, which is considered to be a guarantee of durable collaboration and a beginning of new, and, I am sure, fruitful relationship with Ukrainian specialists. A preliminary agreement has been already reached on the organization of Ukrainian and Russian Symposium within our next International Congress of Cardiology being held in May”.
At the Congress Vadim A. Kuznetsov presented his lecture “Modern aspects of cardiac resynchronization therapy for chronic heart failure”. “The audience welcomed my report and took a great interest in it”, told Prof. Kuznetsov. “There were a lot of clarifying questions, as well as good feedback and comments”.
