Head scientific researcher of Tyumen Cardiology Center Alexander Vasiljev and scientific researchers of the Coronary Insufficiency Department Nina Streltsova and Maria Sekisova have written a new monograph about diagnosis of chest pain.
The material of “Chest Pain” is based on the current literature and clinical experience of the authors. According to Alexander Petrovich, chest pain is one of the most important issues in cardiology. “Most commonly patients present with chest pain, and most commonly the doctor`s diagnosis is coronary artery disease. However, chest pain can be a symptom of different conditions. The aim of the book is to remind physicians that there are other diseases and help them to correctly interpret the symptoms which in its turn enables to treat patients properly”, he said. The book contains a detailed algorithm how to evaluate chest pain, describes patterns of pain in different disorders, analyses main causes of diagnostic errors and provides schemes for distinguishing disorders accompanied by chest pain using clinical and diagnostic methods. The reviewer of the monograph is Prof. Andrey D. Kuimov, head of the chair of faculty therapy at Novosibirsk Medical University, Honored doctor, Honored scientist of the Russian Federation. “The work contains information on main groups of conditions accompanied by chest pain. It is illustrated with a lot of pictures, electrocardiograms, and specific clinical cases. The monograph will be useful for a wide range of physicians, but mainly for cardiologists”, the review says.It is worth noting that over recent 10 years 12 monographs and 14 scientific paper collections have been published in Tyumen Cardiology Center.
